Learn what "Reels" is all about.
Reels is part of Instagram which is owned by Facebook.
Reels invites you to create fun videos to share with your friends or anyone on Instagram. Record and edit 15-second multi-clip videos with audio, effects, and new creative tools. You can share reels with your followers on Feed, and, if you have a public account, make them available to the wider Instagram community through a new space in Explore. Reels in Explore offers anyone the chance to become a creator on Instagram and reach new audiences on a global stage.
Reels can be found as a new option next to “Story” with the Instagram camera (seen above) and includes the following tools:
Audio: Search for a song from the Instagram music library. You can also use your own original audio by simply recording a reel with it. When you share a reel with original audio, your audio will be attributed to you, and if you have a public account, people can create reels with your audio by selecting “Use Audio” from your reel.
AR Effects: Select one of the many effects in our effect gallery, created both by Instagram and creators all over the world, to record multiple clips with different effects.
Timer and Countdown: Set the timer to record any of your clips hands-free. Once you press record, you’ll see a 3-2-1 countdown, before recording begins for the amount of time you selected.
Align: Line up objects from your previous clip before recording your next to help create seamless transitions for moments like outfit changes or adding new friends into your reel.
Speed: Choose to speed up or slow down part of the video or audio you selected. This can help you stay on a beat or make slow motion videos.
Instagram detailed how Reels works for public vs. private accounts and how they can be shared in the Explore tab and in your Instagram Feed.
If you have a Public Account: You can share your reel to a dedicated space in Explore, where it has the chance to be seen and discovered by the wider Instagram community. You can also share your reel with your followers by posting it to your Feed. When you share reels featuring certain songs, hashtags, or effects, your reel may also appear on dedicated pages when someone clicks on that song, hashtag, or effect.
Business Marketing on Reels.
Currently there is no Advertising on Reels and Influences do not have direct in-app options for receiving payments. However you can pay them outside of the app of course.
There are currently 4 quick and easy ways to market on Reels
#1: Educational Content
We’re not talking about lecturing your followers. We’re talking about educating them on your products… without making it about your products.
#2: Product Reviews/Case Studies
Post product reviews. If you’re selling a service, then you’ll post case studies. Use the effects and tools to make it a fun review. not a hard sell.
#3: Your Company Behind-The-Scenes Content
Behind-the-scenes content builds the relationship between you and your customer Since you’re doing this to a larger audience, you’re building that relationship at scale.
#4: Your Company Story
Instagram Reels has the potential to make that bland brand story into a super interesting one. Instead of going to an About Page on a website and reading through a brand story, a prospect can watch a dynamic story on Reels. This story can include music and old photos, case studies, and where you are today because of everything you experienced while getting here.
Creating Reels is quite simple if you follow these steps.
Open Instagram.
Tap the camera icon on the top-left.
At the bottom you'll see options such as Live, Story, and Reels. Tap Reels.
Now you can start creating Reels on Instagram. The maximum length of any video clip is 15 seconds at the moment. We'll walk you through all the options in the next few steps.
To record Instagram Reels, tap the big white circle icon. The same button lets you stop recording too.
Before you start recording you can add a few effects via icons on the left side. To adjust video recording speed the right arrow icon which looks like the play button. You can record videos in slow motion at up to 0.3x or speed them up to 3x.
To add effects to your videos, tap the smiley button and swipe right on the big white circle. This will show you all available effects and you can pick what you like. The effect icon shows up inside the big white circle and you can tap it to start recording.
Instagram Reels also allows you to set a three-second timer before recording any clip. Tap the timer icon on the left and set the duration for your clip (0.1 to 15 seconds) and tap Set Timer. When you start recording, you will see a three-second timer on screen before the video begins
Finally, you can also add music to it by tapping the music icon on the left. The best part here is that you can see the lyrics on screen and choose any part of the song that you want to use.
TikTok allowed you only a specific 30-second clip for each song, but on Instagram Reels you have the freedom to pick your favourite parts of any track. You can add music before recording a video to create lip-sync videos, or you can add it after recording to give it a cool soundtrack.
We also integrate your campaign into our Social Media Network including LINE, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook.
