**Markus Rock** is a German fine-art photographer and multidisciplinary creative whose career began in the international fashion industry. Born in Solingen, Germany, he worked as a make-up artist, stylist, and production designer, including an important period **working under Karl Lagerfeld at CHANEL**—an experience that strongly shaped his visual language, understanding of fashion, and approach to image-making.
Over more than 25 years, Rock developed an international career across cities including Munich, Paris, Barcelona, San Francisco, and Berlin, collaborating with leading fashion, music, and media clients such as **Vivienne Westwood, Harper’s Bazaar, Levi’s, MTV, and Sony Music**.
After moving to Berlin in 2008, Rock increasingly turned his focus toward fine-art photography. His work explores the human body, identity, intimacy, relationships, transformation, and the complexities of contemporary human experience.
His photographic series include **The I and the Other, Julia, Chimera, Still Life, BIG,** and **The Flood**, with his work presented in exhibitions including NordArt and gallery shows in Berlin.
Rooted in a sophisticated fashion background and informed by his formative experience **working with Karl Lagerfeld at CHANEL**, Rock’s photography combines strong visual precision with a deeply personal and conceptual exploration of the human condition.
